Sew It All Together

Sew It All TogetherProgram Schedule: Jan. 9-March 6This class will meet weekly from 1-2 p.m. on Fridays Recommended Ages: 4th-12th gradesStudents must have completed the required prerequisites or successfully test into this advanced section to participate.Students must demonstrate appropriate dexterity and an understanding of basic sewing safety to participate. Instructor guidance will be provided, but students should be able to handle sewing tools and equipment responsibly.  Cost: $90 (members), $100 (nonmembers)Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level? In the third section of the Sew It Begins series, middle and high school students will continue to apply essential sewing techniques and working with a variety of fabrics—while bringing their creative visions to life. This quarter students will be challenged to construct a pair of shorts. They will apply skills such as: •    Finding the grain of fabric.•    Cutting and marking patterns.•    Sewing pieces together.•    Creating an elastic waistband.•    Hemming leg openings.This course is perfect for students ready to expand their skills and create clothing that reflects their personal style.To register your student for the upcoming Sew It All Together section of the Sew It Begins program series, please complete the Sew It All Together Q3 Registration Form. Meet the program instructor: Lynanne DeGarmoLynanne DeGarmo is a lifelong learner and passionate explorer of the arts, with decades of experience in quilting and sewing. Her art pieces have traveled the United States as part of juried quilt competitions. Lynanne is also a Professional Doll Artist, with her emphasis being the construction of the cloth doll.  She has dedicated much of her time to mentoring young creators through 4-H and other student programs.
