Each week, students will journey across civilizations to explore a new goddess: discovering their origin stories, the special powers or responsibilities each mythological figure holds and the traditions and cultural festivals associated with them.Through hands-on activities, creative storytelling and group discussions, learners will compare myths from different cultures and uncover the shared values, hopes and lessons hidden within them. From the gods of Mount Olympus to deities of Egypt, India and beyond, students will see how mythology connects people across time and place through the art of story.By the end of the course, students will recognize major goddesses from world mythology and understand how these stories express the beliefs, creativity and values of different cultures — and how their lessons continue to inspire our modern world.Meet the program instructor: Darby Breaux-Vickers Darby Breaux-Vickers of Sunflower Learning Community has engaged with children for more than 10 years and recently completed a Master of the Arts in Religions Studies.
