Ecosystem Explorers: Safari Science Program Schedule: Jan. 9-March 6 This class will meet weekly from 3-4 p.m. on Fridays  Recommended Ages: K-5th grades Cost: $90 (members), $110 (nonmembers) Students will embark on an exciting journey through Africa’s savannas and grasslands. They’ll discover the animals, plants, and climate that make these ecosystems special. Through hands-on activities, experiments and observations, students will learn how every living thing plays an important role in keeping the ecosystem balanced and thriving. Meet the program instructor: Chitra Harris Chitra Harris is an award-winning educator with a background in forensic science and a strong passion for hands-on, discovery-based learning. A former high school science teacher and state advisory committee member, Chitra helped shape Kansas’s forensic science curriculum. With degrees in botany, zoology and chemistry—and personal experience living in a tropical climate—Chitra brings real-world insight and enthusiasm to inspire young explorers to connect with nature, understand ecosystems and appreciate the importance of conservation.
