Exploring Elementary Spanish  Program Schedule: Jan. 9-March 6  This class will meet weekly from 10-11 a.m. on Fridays  Recommended Ages: 3rd-5th grades  Students should be proficient in their respective reading and writing levels to engage in class activities. Cost: $120 (members), $140 (nonmembers) In this class, students will explore the Spanish language and culture, building a foundation that bridges future learning opportunities. The primary focus of this exploratory class will be on communication skills, the importance of learning other languages and fostering a growth mindset. Students will engage in hands-on activities, including games, cooking meals from Spanish-speaking countries, learning about geography, holidays, art and sharing personal experiences.  Traditional tools like notebooks and pens will be used alongside technology to enhance learning. The class is designed to support all learning styles while encouraging curiosity, cultural awareness and practical use of Spanish in everyday life. Meet the program instructor: Alejandra Pizarro-Rommann Alejandra is a dedicated and passionate Spanish teacher with 25 years of experience fostering a love for the Spanish language and culture. She has taught students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, most recently at Wichita Collegiate School and Wichita Montessori School, designing engaging courses for grades 1–7. Alejandra integrates technology, multimedia resources and cultural activities into her lesson plans to promote language acquisition and cross-cultural understanding. A native Spanish speaker, she combines deep knowledge of language, literature and customs with strong communication, classroom management and instructional skills to create meaningful, engaging and effective learning experiences for all students.
