Art ExplorersProgram Schedule: Aug. 21-Oct. 9 This class will meet weekly on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. Recommended Ages: K-5th grades  Cost: $90 (Members), $108 (Nonmembers) Each Friday, students will explore a different artist or famous artwork from around the world. Through kid-friendly discussions, we’ll learn about the artist’s life, culture, and creative style. Students will then create their own hands-on artwork inspired by what they’ve learned. From Vincent van Gogh to Yayoi Kusama, and many artists students may not have encountered before, this class introduces a wide range of artistic styles and cultural perspectives. Art Explorers encourages creativity, self-expression and a deeper appreciation for art history in a fun and engaging environment. Meet the program instructor: Geli Chavez Geli Chavez is a multidisciplinary artist and creative conceptualist based in Wichita, Kansas. Her vibrant illustrations and designs celebrate identity, joy and the magic in everyday life. Geli’s art invites viewers to embrace individuality through playful and empowering visuals. As program coordinator at Arts Partners Wichita, she integrates the arts into education, fostering creativity in K-12 students. Her work spans various mediums, including the co-illustrated children’s book “A Lot of Miles.” Geli’s community involvement reflects her commitment to transforming lives through art.
