Trip Tycoons: Middle School Course Roadmap Program Schedule: Aug. 21-Oct. 9 This class will meet weekly on Fridays from 1-2 p.m. Recommended Ages: 6th-12th grades Cost: $115 (Members), $130 (Nonmembers) Trip Tycoons is a hands-on middle school program where students become travel planners, entrepreneurs, marketers and team leaders as they work together to design and fund a real class trip. Through engaging, project-based experiences, students develop practical life and career skills in budgeting, financial literacy, marketing, geography, communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Participants collaborate to create travel brands, design vacation packages, organize fundraisers, build budgets, research destinations, and pitch their ideas through interactive showcase events throughout the year. By combining creativity, teamwork, and real-world applications, Trip Tycoons helps students grow in confidence, responsibility and critical thinking while learning how to turn big ideas into achievable goals. This class uses Microsoft Office programs. Meet the program instructor: Nima Mossallah Nima is a community connector who loves bringing people, ideas and resources together in meaningful ways. Her work and volunteer experiences have centered around serving youth, building relationships, coordinating community initiatives and creating opportunities for others to grow and thrive. Outside of her professional work, she has a deep passion for travel, adventure, and learning through experience. Nima has traveled to 27 states, visited six countries, explored 15 National Parks, and has been an avid camper for more than 25 years. One of her favorite experiences was a nine-week camping trip that took her from Kansas to Canada and then down the West Coast to Mexico. She enjoys finding creative ways to travel on a budget while maximizing the experience, culture and adventure. Nima is excited to share the real-world lessons, planning skills and life experiences she’s gained through travel with middle school students in a fun, engaging and practical way.
